Hello, music fans. This is the follow-up to my ground-breaking Top 10 music videos where they walk down the street post, which was about ten music videos in which they walk down the street.
Similarly, this post will showcase ten music videos in which they drive a car, which is why I’ve decided to entitle it: Top 10 music videos where they’re diving a car.
Beep beep!
Aerosmith – Crazy (1994)
Car featured: Blue Ford Mustang convertible
Liv Tyler. Alicia Silverstone. In the 90s! As schoolgirl slash pole dancers with lesbian tendencies! Sounds like a typical day at Le Blow HQ…
Fave bit: When they reverse up to pick up a topless Dean Kelly. HEL-LO.
Alanis Morissette – Ironic (1996)
Car featured: a dark blue 1977 Lincoln Mark V
Isn’t it ironic, eh? Particularly the bit about finding 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife. Alanis clearly hasn’t used the kitchen in MY office – not a spoon to be found. Heh!
Anyhoo, here’s a car full of four Morissettes and fuelled by 90s EMO angst.
Radiohead – Karma Police (1997)
Car featured: 1976 Chrysler New Yorker
I remember being pretty freaked out by this video when it was first released. Mainly at the sight of Thom Yorke’s face. I’M KIDDING! (I’m not) (I am) (not).
The Cardigans – My Favourite Game (1998)
Car featured: a dark blue 1974 Cadillac Eldorado convertible
Nina Persson looking rawk chick HOT wearing leather trousers, snakeskin boots, skull rings and fake tatts, whilst driving a cool convertible with her feet? WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE HERE, PEOPLE?
Flat Eric – Levi’s ad (1999)
Car featured: Big ol’ 50s motor *shrugs shoulders*
OK, so I’ve cheated. This isn’t a music video – but there IS music playing. I couldn’t NOT include this gem, could I? Come on, we all loved this Levi’s ad back in the day – and don’t make out like you didn’t do the infamous head nod…
Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Out of my Head (2001)
Car featured: Um. A yellow one?
To be fair, I didn’t really notice the car when I first saw this video. I was too busy Googling ‘hooded white jumpsuit with extreme cowl neck and leg slits’ and learning the Big Fish Little Fish Cardboard Box dance moves.
Queens of the Stone Age – No One Knows (2002)
Car featured: Some American truck
This video could well be called Revenge of the Roadkill. You should watch it. It’s pretty LOLsome.
Placebo – Song to say Goodbye (2006)
Car featured: Dunno, I was too busy bawling like a baby at the totes emosh video, with all serious acting and that.
Depeche Mode – Wrong (2009)
Car featured: Ford Crown Victoria
WRONG! I do like singing that when in the company of somebody who has said something factually incorrect, or made a massive fuck-up. Ho ho.
This video looks like it’s straight out of the Saw franchise and is pretty grisly. And whilst the band aren’t driving the car, this vid still totally counts cos they make a cameo on the sidewalk (ugh) at 1:38. Oh, and Dave Gahan? I still totally would.
La Roux – In for the Kill (2009)
Ca featured: Toyota MR2
Well, this is all very 80s Knight Rider, isn’t it? Also, I wouldn’t recommend wearing sunglasses whilst driving at night. Women drivers, eh?! *exasperated face*

I feel a Le Blow road trip is on the cards. JUST so we can make a mix tape. Yes tape. Retro style.
