Blow Out (and about) // Get ready to rock at Bestival 2011 as this year’s fancy dress theme is revealed!

Who: Sunday Best presents Bestival

What (it says on the flyer): Bestival Party at KOKO

Where: Koko – 1A Camden High Street, London, NW1 7JE

When: Saturday March 19th 2011 – 9.00pm – 3.00am

There’s a whole lotta LB love for Rob da Bank‘s festival-wot-is-the-Bestival. It combines many of our favourite things: live music, beer, fancy dress, beer, festival fun-times, fancy dress and beer. Each year, we wait with baited breath until the fancy dress theme is revealed, and then wow our colleagues and friends with plans for our impressive costume creation. We then turn up to the festival clutching a hastily purchased headband, in an attempt to make our usual festival gear a bit more ‘dressy’.

But not this year. Oh no. For the Bestival 2011 fancy dress theme has been revealed as (we nearly herniated with excitement when we heard this):

‘ROCK STARS, POP STARS AND DIVAS’

We’ll probably dedicate a whole post to choosing an outfit for the occasion (bagsy me Prince, complete with little Cuban heels and a purple velvet onesie), but in the meantime we’re going to get a taster of what’s to come at Bestivals’ exclusive shin-dig at Camden party-hole, KOKO.

With Bestival main man Rob da Bank hitting up the ones and twos for one of his legendary party sets, we expect to be cutting rug alllll night long. Here’s the confirmed KOKO line-up so far:

LIVE: KITTY DAISY & LEWIS |
THE CUBAN BROTHERS | YAAKS | GHOSTPOET |
SKINNY LISTER | MR B THE GENTLEMAN RHYMER
DJs: ROB DA BANK | SOMBRERO SOUND SYSTEM |
GREGS GREATS

PLUS

A VERY SPECIAL GUEST TO BE ANNOUNCED

Barmy Havana trio The Cuban Brothers combine some of our other favourite things – body popping, nudity and funk – and will certainly get us in the mood for some summer lovin’.

Other top turns playing at the Besti-bash include high octane folksters Skinny Lister who’ll get things rocking with some foot stomping shanties and Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer reciting the hippest hop in the bestest Queen’s English.
