This Sunday The Book Club will takeover Leonard Street to celebrate Queenie’s 60 years on the throne < can’t help but snigger every time we hear that; it’s difficult from making Queen-related poo jokes
Think bunting, beer, baking, bowler hats and brass bands. It’s time to party like its 1952!
We’re most excited about the appearance of the Guilty Pleasures DJs, as most of our music faves can be neatly classified under this genre. But if you’re more into (le) blowing trumpets, the Hackney Colliery Band will be performing songs with horns.
Underbling and Vow will be leading Jubilee revellers in a good ol’ Cockerney knees-up, and party specialists Amp & Deck, will be tearing it up on the 1s and 2s alongside Musical Bingo. The MC for party proceedings is London Fields Radio’s very own Rev Milo Speedwagon.
The Best of British theme continues with a real ale festival hosted by local micro-brewery superstars, London Fields Brewery, showcasing their beers and ales along with a spesh Jubilee edition. Spiffing!
There’ll also be super Jubilee cakes from the rather amaze Lily Vanilli – the cake designer taking the foodie scene by storm of late.
Like any proper British fête, there’ll be a ‘guess the weight’ competition, for the chance to win the queen of all cakes. We cannot confirm if there’ll be a tombola or not.
