Le Blow Christmas gift guide 2012

Christmas gift guide // Ten treats for the girl who likes bling, rings and geeky things. And burgers.

Christmas gift guide

Who’s that girl? And I’m not talking about the 80s Madge film. Nor the Eurythmics song. Although I do like both.

I’m trying to sum myself up in case you find yourself gift shopping for a gal like me this Christmas. Or maybe you ARE shopping for me. In which case: Hello Mum!

Le Blow Christmas gift guide 2012

I digress. Who am I? Uh, well, I’d say I put the fun into fashion and the glam into geek. I’m a geezer in girl packaging, and have been likened to a gay man on more than one occasion (cos I like boys, Kylie and exotically coloured cocktails).

Behold my Christmas gift guide! And yes, this was meant to be just five things but I just couldn’t narrow it down, so you get ten instead. Welcome.

1. iPhone eye candy

Pink Katie Bunny iPhone case#FirstWorldProblems – as if it isn’t stressful enough having to take your daily outfit photos, now you have to make sure your iPhone looks the part, too.

Having given the cheapy H&M version a go, I feel ready to be gifted the Premiership of iPhone covers, courtesy of that clever chap Marc Jacobs. He just KNOWS.

Marc by Marc Jacobs pink Katie Bunny iPhone cover, £40, Stylebop.com

2. Skullduggery

McQueen skull ring

If you like me, put a ring on me. No, not one of those scary sort of ones… although, if you bought me a blingin’ McQueen skull ring (that’s been on my wish list for, like, EVER), I’d probably marry you anyway.

Alexander McQueen Classic skull ring, £150, Selfridges

3. Musical notes

Le Audiocassette notebook from Selfridges

It’s a notebook. With a cassette cover. WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE?

Perfect for adding to my towering pile of other lovely notebooks that I just can’t bring myself to ruin by *gasp* WRITING IN THEM.

Moleskin Le Audiocassette notebook, £14.95, Selfridges

4. Burger sweats

Makus Lupfer sequin hamburger jumper

Please take a minute to LOL at my headline there.

I had to put this in, it’s SO me. A slouchy jumper made from the softest marino wool with a bloody great big sequin hamburger on the front, oh my!

But I couldn’t allow anyone – ANYONE – to spend this much on such a novelty item, however uhh-maze it is. I think I’d rather take the cash. Thanks.

Markus Lupfer sequin hamburger jumper, £285, ASOS

5. Friendly accessories

Moschino Cheap and Chic leather face gloves

Moschino Cheap and Chic leather gloves, £135, Moschino

Continuing with the novelty theme, here’s two slightly more affordable styles. There’s something about putting a cheery face complete with a pair of ruby red lips on the ordinary that I find so fucking beautiful.

Hey, you’re talking to the gal who once started a Tumblr called ‘Ordinary Things With Faces On (dot com)’.

6. Geek chic

Black Milk Artoo dressGod, this R2D2 dress is bloody brilliant. I’d have bought if for myself already but it’s from an Australian brand and I can’t be arsed with the shipping costs and general faffing about. You can do that for me instead.

Artoo Dress, $130.00 AUD, Black Milk

7. Shiny new satchel

lilac metallic Cambridge stachel

The Cambridge Satchel Company keep on getting right (read our inspirational  interview with founder Julie Deane here if you haven’t already seen it).

They’ve released a Christmas range of metallic satchels in four awesome shades, and I want them all – but espesh this shimmering lilac one. Don’t forget, you can get them embossed with initials too. Dayamn!

Lilac metallic stachel, from £125, The Cambridge Satchel Company

8. Sounds good to me

Crosley EU Keepsake Hunter Turntable

Not only does this portable, USB ready turntable by Crosley look the absolute biz but it means I can dust off my vinyl and start digitalising my whole music collection. At some point. Soon.

Crosley EU Keepsake Hunter Turntable, £160, Urban Outfitters

9. Well, fancy hat!

Purple bobble hat from Gap

I love me a bit of nifty knitwear at Christmas time and this season it’s ALL about the bobble hat. The more lary, the better. And it should DEFO look like your nan knitted it for you.

Bright purple bobble hat, £12.95, Gap

10. A wheely cool present

Lego camper vanI love Lego and have always wanted an original VW Beetle or Campervan, so I creamed my pants when I saw this. Although, for 80 sheets it wants to be bloody life-size, no?

Lego Creator Camper Van, £79.95, John Lewis

LIKED THAT? SLAM YOUR EYEBALLS ON THESE!

Pssst! You can win the Cambridge Satchel AND the Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone cover over on the Fashion Christmas Gift Guide I did for Cosmo online!
