On a fashion mission // Finding a hot pink scarf like Lorraine Candy’s…

I do love a good blog and this week I have been addicted to Lorraine Candy (ELLE UK Editor in Chief)’s blog about her return from maternity leave (see also What the Editor Wears).

On Tuesday Lorraine was rocking the most fab sweater and scarf combo – a bright indigo blue textured sweater with puff shoulders and oh-my-God THE MOST perfect bright pink scarf.

The kind of scarf that would brighten up the most rainy day, dreamy ice cream pink that would go with EVERYTHING I have bought for spring (OK, only a mint cardi and some bright blue jeans… but give me time) and that would go with everything I have already (I’m thinking YOU camel coat and grey skinny jeans).

I need this scarf in my life.

So I go on to the Cos website – a first timer. Into my basket goes the sweater (sorry Lorraine, stalker alert), in goes a super cute emerald green shift dress, in goes the aforementioned mint cardi… in goes the hot pink wunnerful scarf… oh hang on its sold out. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Thus begins my 24 hour search for a hot pink scarf.

Nothing. NOTHING. No fucking pink scarf ANYWHERE.
I shun lesser shades; I scour the high street from J Crew (great site) to John Lewis to Net-A-Porter to the whole of Arcadia. I almost buy the YSL Allegra on Net-A-Porter but (thankfully) it’s sold out. It’s £400 but such is my desperation I would have taken it. I can totally live on bread ‘n’ water for the month.

Finally, on the stroke of midnight I find it. Shopbop (a fab US site) have one by Love Quotes in Confetti. I weep with relief – I HAVE THE SCARF! And a snip at around 60 quid. And SJP has one!
