Le Blow beauty review // Benefit’s Boo Boo Zap is BACK!

That’s right, scarlet pimpernel sorts – Benefit’s medicated acne treatment, Boo Boo Zap! is set to make a welcome return into the lives of spot sufferers everywhere.

Having been *shock, horror* discontinued late last year, what Benefit didn’t let on is that they were tinkering about with the formula AND the packaging. The pimple product got pimped! LULZ.

old Boo Boo ZapGone is the comic book style packaging with the angry zit-zapping heroine giving those bastard spots what-for. Twas quite literally the on-the-spot treatment for spots – this stuff really worked.

And it was a whole lot better than scrubbing your face with sandpaper (what? I’ve never done that in my life EVER) or applying TCP / lemon juice / neat bleach.

But fear not, say hel-lo to the revamped, repackaged AND reformulated Boo Boo Zap! Benefit just made acne treatments SEXY. The original objective still remains: to banish blemishes and reduce the appearance of redness and swelling.

new Boo Boo ZapBenefit have essentially packed the new product with PROPER hardcore zit zapping ingredients like glycolic acid, bisabolol (an extract of chamomile that soothes dry, dry skin), PPG-26 (eh?) and PEG-40 (wha?) hydrogenated castor oil. They’ve taken out the witch hazel and camphor, cos they were shit. Probably.

Benefit b.right radiant skincare range

The packaging looks like it’s just been created by a ker-azy professor, with it’s faux cork bottle stopper and vial. Boo Boo Zap! now forms part of Beneift’s B.right radiant skincare range, which is all vintage inspired bottles and lotions and potions.

The new formula goes on invisibly, soaks up the nasties, and dries within a minute, so you can treat your stupid spot pretty much any time – espesh with the handbag friendly lip gloss sized tube… but fer chrissakes, don’t get the two mixed up or stand by for seriously stingy lips… although, could plump up the pout no end? Anyhoo!

You can even apply it over makeup, which is mega handy for those spots that just randomly appear during the day, and it clears up anything from tame reddish blemishes to full scale volcanic eruptions.

I have tried and tested the new, improved Boo Boo Zap! formula and can confirm: it’s ace. It’s clear, doesn’t smell – and has that satisfying slight sting when you apply, so that you know it’s really working. It dries super quick and you can indeed apply it ‘on the go’… though probably not on the train in the middle of rush hour, but y’know…

Benefit’s Boo Boo Zap! £13.50 – coming soon at Benefit.co.uk – and we’ve just spotted it’s available at ASOS.com NOW. Oh, and Boots. So, just not currently available at actual Benefit. Righto.

Oooh! Glad we could be of assistance! Yup, we totes tell it like it is. We’re not paid for any of our reviews. Also, we’re mega lazy, so if something is good enough for us to summon up the energy to write about it, you knows it’s shit hot 😉

Let us know how you get on, but I can totes recommend it – especially good for (if you’ll pardon the pun), on-the-spot treatment, targetting specific pesky pimples.
