London Fashion Week // Should the high street hit the highway?

Topshop was the high street flagship with the first most noticeable presence at fashion week.

We have had the likes of Jaeger and Diesel showing collections but Topshop commandeered Showspace, a fashion home which previewed designers in London also associated or collaborating with the band.

Last September, they showed the Topshop Unique brand, Meadham Kirchoff, Louise Gray and more, streaming to enraptured audiences live globally. And today they’ve revealed their plans for this season, teaming up with Google and ALL of their platforms for true global domination.

What’s interesting this season is that more high street brands than ever are scheduled to show at Fashion Week.

Rihanna is giving her River Island collection as much kudos as possible by presenting in London, Whistles has scheduled a show and H&M is scheduled to present in Paris; “We felt excited about the collection and we really wanted to show it,”  spokesman Håcan Andersson told WWD.

Editors this season have already complained that the show schedules are more busy than ever. With the high street vying to the spotlight, it doesn’t look like those poor frowers will get any respite soon.
