Royal Wedding street (party) style // royally good looks

Ah, the Royal Wedding. Let’s face it, apart from getting shit-faced, all we were interested in were the outfits. Yeah yeah, K-Mids looked divine; Posh’s shoes made up for her moody face; Chelsy Davy looked like she was wearing an aqua green body cast and there are already too many metaphors going around about TPT’s leccy blue head piece.

Picnicking with Pimms in Hyde Park under the shadows of the looming big screens were a plethora of well wishers in various guises – from full-on fancy dress (kings, queens, brides, Big Bens – even a giant penis emblazoned with ‘Kate loves Willy‘) to Union-Jacked-up, commemorative and slogan ‘it shudda been me‘ / ‘thanks for the day off‘ folk.

But our favourites were the ones who just wanted an excuse to bust out their best threads and dress to impress. Princesses take note.

A pleated midi skirt in pillar box red and a structured day bag to rival the Queen’s make this a royally good look.

Tartan? Check. Brass buttons? Check? Jaunty black beret? Check! This gal’s certainly earned her fashion stripes.

Stacked ’70s style platforms, a floaty kimono style caplet (in of-the-moment patriotic red, white and blue – natch), over-sized shades and a mini cross body bag – all hail the Queen of this season’s style.

This royal reveller’s taken her fashion cue from British punksters – Gawd save the Queen!
