Stereotyped // The Urban Explorer

The Urban Explorer Le Blow StereotypedHas anyone noticed recently how hipster boys are increasingly dressing like they are going on a geography field trip to the Lake District?

Neon windcheaters, bright cagoules, hard wearing cords or chinos and some sort of expandable canvas rucksack, with enough room for an emergency tent and ordnance survey map.

Well-equipped for battling the changeable weather and rough terrain of Clerkenwell or Bethnal Green, this is pretty much the new uniform of the urban explorer.

Presumably citing the likes of Ray Mears and Biggie Shackleton as influences, urban explorers can be found wearing hiking boots to run for the 78 bus and grizzly beards in which to store Kendal mint cake.

Bonus points for referencing the blog itsbetterinthewind.com; riding a restored Scrambler Dirt Bike; wearing anything from Poler or Howies and eschewing Google maps in favour of a compass and OS177 Landranger map of East London.
