Topshop and Adidas and whiskers on kittens – now those are a few of our favourite things!
Souped-up sports luxe has never been hotter (Chanel couture crystal-encrusted trainer, anyone?) and so the new Topshop and Adidas Originals collaboration for SS14 couldn’t be better timed. Although we can’t believe it hasn’t happened before; it seems like such an obvious fash match.
Called Topshop X Adidas Originals (not so original), the 20-piece collection sees Toppers tearing through the Adidas archives and reimagining heritage classics for the concrete catwalk.
Styles in the collection include tailored, slim fitting three-stripe tracksuit bottoms, running shorts and sweaters adorned with a print inspired by London landmarks. Footwear also gets the Topshop touch with Adidas Originals’ Superstar, Tech Super and Attitude silhouettes reworked in brand new leather and print combos. New Balance WHO?
Kate Phelan, Topshop’s creative director, says the collection aims to bring some “femininity” to Adidas Originals sports designs, adding that the collection is designed to be worn as a fashion range. Good. So we don’t have to make out like we’re going to renew our gym membership, then.
The collection launches globally on March 20th at topshop.com, with prices starting at £25 for a vest.
