What’s big in our box // HAIM – Falling

Oooh yes. We like this. We like this A LOT.

You already know we’re massive HAIM fan girls (they’ve been on our radar since June last year), and we’ve totally fallen (hur hur) for their latest single, Falling.

And the sisters HAIM have gone all jungle on us. No, not in a General Levy kind of way, but in the setting for the lush accompanying video.

Shot by the uber cool Tabitha Denholm in the misty mountains of Los Angeles,it’s all very girl power in a laid-back sort of way; all hair flippy and jerky shoulder dancing, whilst casually hunting for fish in a river and that. Grrr!

Never look back, never give up.

As we gaze at the dismal Blighty weather and crank up the central heating a notch, this video makes us want to don minuscule sawn-off denim shorts, tousle our hair with sea salt spray and book tickets for every single summer festival with immediate effect.

The track itself is all 80s inspired pop, with up and at ‘em lyrics on a Billy Ocean Going Gets Tough Vibe, and shouty refrains with twangin’ bass very much reminiscent of Duran Duran’s Wild Boys. Which would make HAIM Wild Girls, right?
