What’s big in our box // Owl Eyes – Hurricane

I hadn’t heard of Owl Eyes until I stumbled across her new single Hurricane, and while I can’t confirm if she has a head that swivels all the way round, I can tell you that this electro pop-flavoured track is rather excellent. I hit replay approx 457847822347886322 times after the first listen.

Brooke Addamo AKA Owl Eyes is the Oz equivalent of, say Little Boots or maybe even Florence (of ‘and the Machine’ fame). She’s all about shiny synths, booming bass, anthemic choruses and we ruddy love it *puts lighter in air* *sets hair on fire* *flushes head down toilet*

A bit of research *cough* Google *cough* tells me she recently released her debut album Nightswim, from which Hurricane is the fourth single to be lifted. She’s touring her homeland Australia in October, but we’ll be keeping our (owl) eyes peeled for any forthcoming UK dates.

Hurricane is taken from Owl Eyes’ debut album Nightswim, in stores and online now.
