WIN! Hunter boots giveaway // Why Kate Moss is Queen of Festival Fashion #BEAHEADLINER

If, like us, you’re a bit miffed that you missed out on Glastonbury tickets this year (and by ‘missed out’, we mean ‘totally-didn’t-even-bother-applying’), then luckily Le Blow is here to help.

While we can’t recreate the entire festival experience (but seriously, who wants to see the Rolling Stones and sleep in a muddy field, while drunken passers-by wee on your tent, anyway? *puts hand up*), we CAN help you with the unofficial festival-goers uniform, and that’s a pair of Hunter boots.

Yup, the folk at Hunter have set up a Welly Exchange (that just auto-corrected to ‘willy exchange’ #AWKS) outside the gleaming gates of Glasto. Festival ticket holders can swap their knackered old wellingtons for a bright new pair of #BEAHEADLINER boots.

So we’re setting up a (mini, virtual) Welly (not willy) exchange of our own. Scroll to the end of the post for your chance to win your very own pair of Kate Moss-inspired Hunter boots in classic black.

But first, some festival fashion inspo, courtesy of Kate the Great…

Kate Moss and Johnny Depp 1996

OK, we’ll admit it. We just included this picture so we could perve at 90s Johnny Depp – surely the ULTIMATE in arm candy though, right? Where do we buy one?

Hard to believe this pic is ten years old – but we’re totally diggin’ the haute hippy look and it sort of feels fresh for this season *orders cheesecloth tunic from eBay**digs out jangly Gap Yah waist belt*

Kate Moss looks furry nice at Glasto 2004

YES. This fur throw casually slung over a ditsy print tea-dress spawned a thousand wannabe clones at festivals. But it’s the little finishing touches that set this look apart: retro bug-eye shades, bangle worn high on the arm. Oh, Kate.

Here’s Our Kate the same year at Glasto, as it got a bit soggier, working the fashionable yet practical Farmer Giles look, complete with flat cap and Hunter boots. Oh, and we think that might be a Chanel blouse. Sure.

Kate Moss gets waisted at Glastonbury 2005

Ahhh, here it is. THE ultimate festival fashion look, rocked by Ms Moss at Glastonbury 2005: Teeny-weeny shorts, dangling pendant, bare legs and a pair of Hunter Boots. The uniform of girls at festivals FOREVERMORE has now been set.

Kate Moss at Glastonbury 2005 (again)

Yeah, Glasto 2005 was a goody for Kate Moss. This is always the look we picture in our heads when trying to dress for a festival – a mix of frivolity with practicality. Glitter and Hunters. Grunge ‘n’ glam. As to whether we achieve this is another matter entirely…

See previous comments. The perfect example of sexy-yet-dishevelled-60s-70s-rock-chick-groupie and everything we wannabe and MORE every festival season. And every day, dammit.

Miffed you’re missing out on the Hunter Welly Exchange at Glasto?
Going to a UK festival this summer?

While it looks like there won’t be a Worthy Farm washout this weekend, if you’re attending other UK festivals this summer, it’s likely you’ll need a pair of Hunters to see you right.

We have one pair of Original Tall Hunter boots in black – just like Kate’s! – worth £79 to give away. Want ‘em? Sure. Just enter our competition by telling us what you’re willing to swap for a pair. And yes, we actually want the winning ‘thing’ posted to us. It’s like a very grown up version of Swap Shop. Enter by Tweeting us @Le_Blow or leaving a comment below. You can enter more than once, but you have to be a UK resident. We’ll pick the best answer and swap for a pair of Hunters in the size of your choice. Them’s the rules.

Good luck!

Competition closes Friday 5th July 2013 but if you can’t wait until then, go forth and shop at hunter-boot.com.

I’ll send you the mane hair of a unicorn. Naturally sourced on mid-summer night and cut with a sickle fashioned by elves. (If you don’t like that, I could always send you some cookies, homemade and full of love..?)
