Oh, Johnny Depp, you handsome bastard. We could dedicate a whole blog post, nay website, to your rock star good looks.
We’ re massive fans of the Johnny Depp / Tim Burton love-in here at Le Blow. They just seem to go together like… a Frenchman and onions, no? We kinda wanna give ’em their own cutsie hybrid name, like Brangelina.
Their last collaboration (er, apart from the new one that’s out now), Dark Shadows is out on DVD next week (timed to marketing perfection for Halloween, eh?), and we’ve only got a bloody Blu-Ray Triple Play pack to give away.
Prize value: a fiver from Li, our friendly local DVD distributor*
To get your filthy lil mitts on it, just leave a comment below telling us your fave Depp/Burton movie and why. We’ll pick the best one and send it your way.
And to help you out (and NOT so we can perve at pictures of Johnny Depp doing acting and that, oh no), here’s a quick recap of all of the Depp/Burton love-ins collabs…
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Where Johnny Depp looks a lot like Robert Smith from The Cure and acts his (tight little) arse off.
Ed Wood (1994)
Where J-Depp gives good ‘tache and looks even hotter in black and white. And dresses as a woman.
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Good training for mincing about as Jack Sparrow, this. Also: Johnny Depp on a horse.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Where Johnny Depp gets a bit creepy old man *cough* Jimmy Saville *cough* and generally trips his tits off.
The Corpse Bride (2005)
Johnny Depp. As a CARTOON. We still would.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
Where Depp does singing. And doesn’t make us cringe. And looks a bit like a pasty goth version of David ‘cheap as chips’ Dickinson.
Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Strangely, we even fancied Johnny Depp as a deranged, boss-eyed ginge.
Dark Shadows (2012)
Yeah. He’d still GET IT as a vampire. Yup. Leave a comment below for your chance to own Johnny Depp (on DVD) – and for more perving opps, check out the Dark Shadows app (we very much enjoyed the Horror Scope bit).
*That was a joke, obviously. It’s all official and that.

I’m a bloke. Can I enter? Yes? Good. Sleepy Hollow is classic 90s fodder so gets my vote. Decapitations and Christina Ricci, what more could you want?
Natasha
Ed Wood. Cos Johnny Depp looks as fit as fuck.

OK, so out of all his films I’d say Pirates of the Carribean, but out of this little lot it’s got to be Edward Scissorhands. A classic! x

Aside from massively fancying Johnny Depp, so all his films are therefore excellent, I think his acting ability was proven in Edward Scissorhands, so that totes gets my vote. Thankyou please.

The Corpse Bride is like a cult creepy movie nowadays and even though he’s a cartoon, you can still tell it’s JD, so yeah. That’s my choice. Though they’re all fucking brilliant films!
