If you long for the days of yore when you’d stick on a Massive Attack album to help the, er, ‘wind down’ process after a particularly big night out, then London-based trio HAELOS are the new band for you, my friend.
With a banging’ drum beat reminiscent of Candy Flip’s 1990 hit Strawberry Fields Forever (btw, this is a good thing in my book), their latest single Earth Not Above is a dreamy slice of trip-hop heaven.
The cinematic strings and breathy vocals are making me want to wander whimsically through a field of daisies while smoking a spliff.
Speaking of which, HAELOS s are playing at Brighton’s Great Escape and London’s Field Day festivals later on this year.
Listen to Earth Not Above, um, above.
