Bananas in pyjamas

On a fashion mission // Picking up a pair of printed pyjama pants

So… I am recently back at work (well temporarily, at least) after a few months ‘out’ (ahem!) and have realised my working wardrobe is severely lacking.

I have been falling back on my fail safe uniform of coloured jeans, grey marl tees (the best invention EVER), jacket and heels. I need something new, something FRESH… and went OAFM (that’s On A Fashion Mission, suckers) to find the best pyjama trousers out there.

Can I make it clear there is no WAY I would do the whole PJ top and bottoms trend combo – the only person who sees me in my Cath Kidston gingham PJs (they are ironic, ok?) is my 4 year old son… not that that’s saying much, he’s my harshest fashion critic… but that’s another post).

Zara tie print pyjama pants
Anyhoo – back to the pyjama trews. I had spotted these great PJ trousers in slick Spanish Zara: navy blue with a subtle tie print, they looked just RIGHT. A quick Google shows these bad boys are in demand and no wonder – they are a serious steal at just 35 sheets.
Onto the website and guess what? Yet again SOLD fucking OUT. What is it about MEEE? (I think I’m a bit behind, yes?)
So back to the t’internet. I scour, I search; can I find a decent sub? Can I never. These are literally the ONLY pair of PJ trews that I want.
Others are too chintzy, too floral, too twee. Then… late one night when I’m feasting on Mini Eggs (to keep up my shopping strength, natch) I glance back at Zara. They’re back!
One size left in stock – my size!
*air punch*
I quickly add them (and a gorge sea green pleated dress for my upcoming holiday… 20 quid. HOW?) to my basket and…YAY!!!! I can go to bed.
Fashion mission accomplished.

Footnote:
I think I mentioned in my last post that I am a stalker fan of Lorraine Candy. Checked her blog today – she’s only wearing the SAME bloody PJ trousers! *proud face*

She’s styled them with a roll neck and beige Jimmy Choos. Love! So in the spirit of Lorraine’s blog I am going to add my very own ‘what I am reading/listening to’ section). Ooh, get me, etc.

TODAY VICTORIA…
Is listening to: head banging to Nirvana’s Nevermind on my long commute (fave track: Come As You Are)
Is reading: Under the Cocktail Tree of Forgetfulness by Alexandra Fuller – dark but empowering and a must have for fans of Don’t Lets Go to the Dogs Tonight.
