Seeing as the halter neck sits best on a flat chest, it’s a quandary why this hasn’t happened sooner. JW Anderson delighted with some signature gender-bending at London Collections Men this week, by showing the boys in delicate printed halter shapes with deep cut sides.
For most girls (it’s all about us, remember?) the halter neck brings back memories of blue slush, shopping centres and flashing a shabby McLovin ID to blag Friday night at Hollywoods. Bonus points if yours was white polyester with a metal neck fastening. Who, me?
At LCM, the halter neck, worn with easy flats and loose dark tailored pants took on a whole new *confusingly chic* manly meaning.
The questions remain though: Will the halter neck simply be adopted by directional male model types OR is it something us girls can credibly wear again?
Get yours on standby and watch this space…
