The English Laundrette

Have all these washing machine themed restaurants got you in a spin (heh)? Let’s clean (arf!) matters up once and for all.

There’s the multi Michelin starred French Laundry which popped up in Harrods for 250 fucking pounds a head. No, you heard correctly. No need to rinse out the suds in your ears…

Then, there was the spin-off (sorry) and sold-out French Laundrette – a ballsy retort to the above in the form of a Sunday supper club charging just £2.50 per person and donations going to charidee.

But we’re allll about The English Laundrette, a ten day Shoreditch supper club (above) by the people who brought us Rock Lobsta and Disco Bistro.

The six course tasting menu celebrates iconic beige British classics, including:

Glass of juice
Cheese and pineapple
Prawn and avocado
The mixed grill
The savoury
Lily Vanilli’s dessert trolley of delight

The night also features a ’60s inspired soundtrack (YES!), plus the Coin-Op Bar with Vodka & Gin Cocktails (OH MY). To be honest, they had me at cheese and pineapple…

The English Launderette in East London is open until 10th October
Meals are £49 with pre dinner cocktail included.
