Adele: Vogue cover girl AKA “the face of full fat coke” // She said that, not us…

That Adele. She’s a one, ain’t she? We love her here at LB. We were lucky enough to catch her at the iTunes Festival this summer and she’s got a cracking set of lungs (despite having a sore throat for the performance). The contrast between her Bianca-from-Eastenders fog-horn voice for between-song banter and the spine-shivering, soulful sound delivered during songs, was quite fucking frankly mind blowing.

We’re all about girls with ‘tood (God, that sounded like a really naff street dance movie) and Adele has skip-loads of the stuff, so we were suitably impressed to see her beautiful boat race on the cover of UK Vogue’s forthcoming October issue.

It looks like Vogue learnt their lesson following the last time Adele graced their pages in 2009 (above), by giving the over zealous Photoshopper the heave-ho. In fact, they’ve gone to the other end of the spectrum and avoided photographing Our Adele in an over stylised pose that could be criticized in any way, shape or form.

We are therefore, essentially, presented with an Extreme Close Up of Adele’s face. But what a pretty one at that. With her trademark winged eyeliner and nude lips in place, she jokes about being the “face of full-fat Coke” and chats about her insecurities. You know, the ones that we ALL have:

I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life.

I have insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.

And on that no-nonsense note, we’re off to eat pie. Lots of pie.
