The dalmation spot is having an unexpected moment after being worn by Kate Middleton on her final public engagement before the royal birth.
The Duchess was spotted (heh) in a £169 dalmatian print mac by Hobbs – which has now duly sold out – as she officially named a new ship by chucking champagne at it.
As the tame, more demure fashion cousin of leopard print, Kate quashed any implications of wildness whatsoever by teaming the Hobbs coat with courts and the perennial fascinator.
Also loved by Disney’s deranged answer to ADR, Cruella de Vil, the dalmation spots’ history in fashion fairytale is assured.
Of course, Kate only wears the print on a cotton mix fabric though and wisely forgoes directional mono hair colour. One assumes the palace would approve.
