Sounding like it’s straight outta the 80s, with major Janet Jackson vibes, London-based singer/producer Shura serves up a sultry slice of RnB synth pop that’s perfect for playing on repeat as balmy summer evenings advance.
In fact the song is so damn 80s, it transports me right back to being at school, making mix tapes and wanting to slow dance with the boy I fancied at the youth club disco. The angsty lyrics sum up unrequited ‘just friends’ love perfectly, all back-to-front caps, conversations, rolled cigarettes and walking down the Uxbridge Road with headphones on.
This is set to be one of THE tunes of summer 2015, so make sure you catch Shura singing it live this festival season – she’s playing at Field Day, Latitude, Festival No.6 and Bestival. Go on, don’t be shy… #sorrynotsorry
