What’s big in our box // Girls Aloud – Something New (go girls, g-g-go go go!)

Yeah, we’ll admit. WE LIKE THE NEW GIRLS ALOUD SONG.

Maybe we’ve just got swept up in the whole reunion hooplah or maybe it’s the shouty feministy lyrcis – ‘go girls, g-g-go go go go!’ and ‘we girls gonna run this show!’ (and ironically they look about as in control here as a bunch of perfectly programmed Stepford Wives) but we found oursleves trying to do an angry catwalk strut just like the GA gals on first listen.

Besides, Le Blow’s Amy is an out-and-proud Girls Aloud fan, who will no doubt be Frowing it on their forthcoming tour.

Ironically, even though it’s called Something New, it’s got a bit of a 90s style vibe to it and reminded us a LOT of their 2006 single Something Kinda Oooh.
