Christmas gift guide
‘Never short of a gift idea’ is a quote attributed to me more than once. Not wanting to sound materialistic or anything but I literally want EVERYTHING.
When Christmas rolls round I have to stop self gifting and think about everyone else – it’s quite a struggle, believe me.
I know I’m not alone though when I say that buying stuff for whatever reason makes me feel warm inside and that’s what Christmas is all about right?
Hang on a minute, I just realised I’m going to hell. See below for my top 5 (or there abouts) gift ideas, anyway…
1. Equipment silk pyjamas
Pyjamas are my favourite thing ever. I would wear these all Christmas day, to bed that evening, on New Year’s Eve and to the office on January 2nd. That’s how much I love them.
Equipment Avery Floral Pyjama, £470, MyWardrobe.com
2. Danish walnut rocking chair
Interior Addict does great furniture. I moved house this year and am ordering the green tweed upholstered walnut frame rocking chair for my front room.
Danish rocking chair, from £559, Interior Addict
3. Transparent backpack
I’m obsessed with perspex heels, clutches and see-through accessories right now. Rumour has it The Cambridge Satchel Company will be creating a transparent handbag early in 2013. In the meantime, I might invest in this cheap and cheerful Etsy ‘Ghost’ bag. Just fun.
Transparent ‘Ghost’ bag, $100, Etsy
4.New diary
Every Christmas I want a new diary. Smythson sets the standard, Liberty and Paperchase do a great job too. I’d choose a sunshine colour in leather or a neutral tome and wrap a neon ribbon round it so it isn’t lost on my chaotic desk.
Smythson diaries, from £29, Smythson.com
5.Posh stuff
My fifth request would be a toss-up between Byredo Parfums or Diptyque candles, a cashmere blanket or navy cashmere crew neck knit, Opening Ceremony San Telmo nappa platforms or some amazing surprise from Dover Street Market. Maybe an antique charm necklace or a cozy quilted jacket for winter walks in Epping Forest.
I knew this would be tricky to narrow down..
Scented candle, from £27, Diptyque

Two things: a) the PJs and b) I’m sorry – I limited you to just five things, where as I did ten in my post. I COULDN’T CHOOSE JUST FIVE.

The PJs. I KNOW. Whatever happened to getting an orange in a sock and a bag of chocolate coins?
A Man
Christ. I’m not sure I like my girlfriend enough to spend 500 sheets on pyjamas. Anything a little less pricey please? She seems to have similar taste to you, Laura.
